The Bold Berry is a healthy dessert or a tasty frozen cocktail – it’s up to you to decide.
The basic recipe is easy:
1 very ripe frozen banana
1 cup frozen berries mix (eg raspberries, blueberries, cherries, blackberries, etc)
1/4 – 1/2 cup whole milk (substitutes work too)
2 – 4 oz dark rum (your preference)
1 – 3 teaspoon of Agavé
The process is easy but also important to follow. I use one of my favorite kitchen gadgets – the $20 Ninja Chopper – a mini food processor. I like these so much, I often give them as gifts.
Break the banana into chunks and put in the mini food processor. Add the cup of mixed frozen berries. Pulse until the fruit will no longer process. It will look like food confetti. Add only as much milk as necessary for the food processor to work. If you are making the cocktail, add those wet ingredients first and then add only enough milk to get the desired thickness.
As a desert, the result should be as thick as soft serve ice cream. As a cocktail it helps to be more like a thick shake.
Serve and enjoy … responsibly!
