In the process of establishing the ‘Elder Ninja’ blog, I discovered a big PITA. (If you don’t know what a PITA is, you can do an internet search but suffice to say I’m trying to be kind to individual’s sensitivities).
In the past, iOS on iPhones and iPads defaulted to sending email as plain text. If you used bold or italic text or other special formatting, iOS would convert the email to html and send it. An image on its own was not treated as special formatting.
Now, if you add an image, iOS does not exactly send an html email but it also does not send a plain text email. Now it chunks up the email into ‘text attachments’ and the photo as an ‘image attachment’.
Other iOS devices know what to do with the hodgepodge of attachments. Many email clients have no clue and WordPress blog posting by email is thoroughly baffled.
